Privacy and Terms

This Privacy Policy sets forth the policies of Mount St. Dominic Academy (henceforth referred to as “MSDA”) with respect to personal information you provide to us through this website (the “Site”). These policies may be changed at any time, in which case the revised Privacy Policy will apply to information collected after the date the Privacy Policy is posted. By accessing the Site, you agree that you have read and understand the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.

1. Our Policy.
We recognize the value of your privacy and encourage you to read this entire Privacy Policy as it sets forth our policies with respect to personal information you provide us through our Site. Other privacy practices may apply to information you provide to us through other channels. “Personal Identifiable Information” (“PII”) refers to information that allows us to identify you, such as your name, address, zip/postal codes, telephone number, organization name if applicable, e-mail address, etc.

2. Personal Information Collected.
We maintain this Site for informational purposes and in order to facilitate your interaction with us. At our Site, we only collect personally identifiable data when voluntarily and knowingly submitted by a visitor. You can have general access to our Site and browse pages describing our school without providing any personal information or being required to register at our Site. However, you may not be able to access all parts of our Site or interact with us online without supplying personal information. For example, you may need to provide us with your personal information in order to complete online forms, fill out applications or make a donation. If you register with the Site you will be provided with a Username and Password which you must provide to us to login and to obtain access to password protected portions of our site. If you ask to receive additional information, we will ask you to provide us with your personal information so we can contact you to respond to your request. We also will receive your personal information if you submit it to us when you e-mail comments to the Site or if you complete surveys on our Site. Online donations are processed by a third-party service provider and you should read the section below entitled “Links and Third Party Web Sites” and familiarize yourself with the privacy terms of all such non-MSDA sites before using them.

3. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
To the extent applicable, we comply Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (“COPPA”). COPPA requires that certain website operators never knowingly request any PII from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting verifiable parental consent. In accordance with COPPA, we do not knowingly collect any PII from children under the age of 13. In the event that we determine that a user of this Site is under the age of 13, we will not maintain or use his or her PII. We will then delete any such PII from our records.

4. Information You May Submit to MSDA.
By visiting our Site, you may have the opportunity to request information from MSDA, in which case an e-mail or other contact information may be required in order to allow us to comply with your request, and for other purposes as may be disclosed at the time the request is made. If you request information from MSDA, we may add your e-mail address or other contact information to our mailing list and contact you from time to time. You may elect to opt-out of receiving communications other than those relating to a specific query by following the procedures in “How to Request Changes or Opt-Out of Future Communications” (below).

5. Use of Information.
We will use the PII you submit (i) to send you materials or information that you have requested, (ii) to notify you of other communications that may be of interest to you, and (iii) to solicit you from time to time.

Subject to applicable law, we may disclose your PII:
(i) to unaffiliated third parties, attorneys, accountants and advisors who provide MSDA with assistance or advice or are under contract to perform services for or on behalf of MSDA (collectively, “Service Providers”), who will be required to uphold and maintain our policies with respect to privacy, confidentiality and the treatment of your PII, provided that any service provider’s access to such information will be limited to the purpose for which such information was provided to our Service Provider; (ii) to persons as permitted by applicable law or regulation; (iii) to law enforcement personnel and agencies, as part of a legal process, if otherwise compelled to do so by law or in connection with any government or self-regulatory organization request or investigation, in order to protect our property or in furtherance of an investigation regarding a breach of the Site rules and policies, unauthorized access to or use of the Site or any other illegal activities; or (iv) if you direct us to do so.

We do not sell your Personal Identifiable Information to nor exchange this information with other organizations for purposes of solicitation.

You acknowledge that if you choose to include your Personal Identifiable Information (such as your phone number and home address) when you contribute to our online community using our tools (e.g., online chat rooms), such information may be viewed by other users on the Site.

6. MSDA Data Security.
We are very concerned with the safety and security of your sessions on our Site, the information you provide us online, and any transactions you conduct with us online. We have implemented and maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards consistent with industry standard protocol to help guard your nonpublic personal information, including to protect against the loss, misuse, interception, access and alteration of information you send us. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those of our employees and our agents who need to know the information to enable us to provide our services to you and we emphasize to them the importance of maintaining the security, confidentiality and integrity of your personal information. We utilize SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology, which encrypts our visitors’ credit card numbers, names, and addresses. Our third-party data processor is PCI-DSS certified.

7. Links and Third Party Websites
This Policy applies solely to information collected by the Site. The Site may contain hyperlinks or “links” to other sites, which may be subject to a separate privacy policy and other terms and conditions. For example, online payments to MSDA are facilitated by our non-affiliated service provider, Rediker. When you follow links to make such a payment, you will be linked to our service provider’s website, which may be subject to a separate privacy policy and other terms and conditions. In some cases, these other websites are made available via “framing technology”, and may appear to be part of our Site. We urge you to familiarize yourself with the individual privacy policy and other terms for each linked or framed site prior to submitting any Personally Identifiable Information. We are not responsible for the data collection, privacy and information sharing policies and procedures or the content of such third-party websites.

8. Cookies
Visitors to our Site should be aware that non-personal information and data may be automatically collected by our Site through the use of “cookies.” “Cookies” are small pieces of data sent to your computer browser from our web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. The data identifies you as a unique user and facilitates your ongoing access to and use of the Site. Cookies are used by us to recognize repeat visitors, frequency of visitor use, store user preferences, and to track information and usage behavior. By tracking user trends and patterns of how people search, we can better understand our user base. This helps us deliver better and more personalized services, improve the content and administration of our Site, facilitate use of our Site by visitors and generally enhance your online experience when you visit our Site. Cookies also help us to diagnose problems with our server. We use “cookie” technology only to compile aggregate data about your visits to our Site and not to obtain personal information. We may use this information to collect demographic information and develop statistics about our user base. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. 9. How to Request Changes or Opt-Out of Future Communications
If this information is incorrect or incomplete, please let us know, and we will correct or update it promptly. You may also ask us to remove your name and other personal information from our database, in which case we will make all reasonable efforts to do so, subject to legal and other considerations. In order to stop receiving electronic communications from us, you may unsubscribe to our publications and other communications by following the unsubscribe directions included at the end of each e-mail we send, or by visiting our Site and following the unsubscribe instructions. 10. Log Files
Like most standard website servers we use website statistic packages such as Google Analytics to analyze trends in how the Site is accessed and utilized. Information monitored includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, geographic location of visitors (country, city), browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, time spent on pages, and keywords used to find the Site via search engines. This information is anonymous and cannot be directly linked to individual users. We may use it to identify high-use or low-use areas of the Site, pinpoint problem areas of the Site, analyze broad demographic trends in our visitors, and make decisions about how to make it easier for people to find and navigate the Site.

11. Google Analytics
The Site uses Google Analytics to help understand how visitors engage with the Site. Your web browser automatically sends certain information to Google. This includes, for example, the web address of the page that you’re visiting and your IP address. Google may also set cookies on your browser, or read cookies that are already there.
