Lena Tusche, Mount St. Dominic, Jr. Position: Midfielder2023 stats: 19 goals, 21 assists2023 All-State breakdown: “Tusche and sophomore forward Gianna Camporeale made up an awesome offensive duo this season and helped Mount St. Dominic win its first 14 games. The Lions won 20 games overall and that included an upset win over Immaculate Heart in the North, Non-Public A title game. That handed Mount St. Dominic its first-ever sectional title. Tusche was dynamic with the ball at her feet all year, sending beautiful balls past defenses and into space. Tusche also used her foot work to dribble into space and rip shots at the net herself. She had a few jaw-dropping goals this year. Mount St, Dominic has a great young core and this team is going to be a serious contender the next few years. Camporeale finished the fall with 29 goals and 11 assists. Her speed is insane and it’s hard to keep up with her. Tusche and Camporeale might be the best young scoring combination in the state. Rookie Sophia Giordano is another offensive threat to keep an eye on. This team made it to the Essex County semis this year and played in the Non-Public A final. Mount St. Dominic is going to set its sights and expectations sky high when they come back next fall.”
