Virtual Day of the Girl with Young Activists, Thought Leaders, and United Nations Representatives

MSDA “attended” a virtual field trip on Friday to view the International Day of the Girl: Working Group on Girls Town Hall.

This event showcased the collaboration of young female activists, gender equity thought leaders, and United Nations representatives from around the world. These activists and policy makers came together to explore important issues impacting girls globally and explored possibilities for realizing gender equality for all girls. In keeping with our mission to empower young women, we set aside time to address these important issues and hope that the event fosters awareness of issues facing girls on a global level. Teachers invited students to share what parts of the event impacted them the most, and we encouraged students to explore what opportunities exist to get involved with other girl activists in their communities.
