Super SHEro - Nancy Hauser Mingari RN '95

Nancy Hauser Mingari RN, member of the MSDA class of 1995, is a nurse at Hackensack University Medical Center in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Hackensack, New Jersey. Of her role in the NICU prior to COVID19, Nancy said, “The NICU is a unique area. I can take care of babies who weigh a pound and have more tubes and wires coming out of their bodies than you can ever imagine, to full term infants with a variety of different issues requiring an intensive care stay.”

Things have certainly changed during the days of COVID19, and Nancy remarked that adjustments have been made, “We are lucky that none of our infants have been COVID19 positive. The biggest change is the protocols and procedures we have in place to decrease exposure for ourselves and our tiny patients.”

In addition to expertly caring for her tiny patients, Nancy has also been caring for her colleagues by working to secure additional PPE when needed. Thank you, Nancy, for the care you are providing to your precious patients, and for doing all you can to protect them, as well as your colleagues.
