Black History Month Presentation

Mount St. Dominic Academy students participated in a celebration of Black History Month. The assembly event featured a presentation, discussion, and keynote speaker Dr. Marie Jackson '01. The student-led presentation coordinated by MSDA Diversity Club, honored Black Americans and their important contributions to the history of the United States, and a discussion followed on the social and cultural issues impacting the Black community. Dr. Jackson, general dentist and owner of Stellar Smile Center in Montclair, joined us as the keynote speaker and encouraged, educated and enlightened students with a discussion on topics including influences, entrepreneurism, the role race and ethnicity has had on her personal journey, and ways to support Black-owned businesses.
