This week, the Mount students in Mr. Piparo's AP Statistics class recreated an experiment in which a person, Joy Milne, correctly identified the scent, or lack of scent, of Parkinson's disease on 12 of 12 t-shirts. Joy correctly identified all 12. This lesson was designed in relation to recent discussions in class about the aspects of designing experiments. According to Mr. Piparo, in the real world, experiments can be very costly and time consuming. Often researchers will use simulation before conducting an actual experiment. Simulation is the process of recreating the outcome of experiments through other means, such as flipping coins, rolling a die, and computer apps.#msda1892 #wearethemount
