Innovative Ventures Unleashed: Mount St. Dominic Academy's L.E.O. Program Showcases Entrepreneurial Prowess in Annual Pitch Event

This week, members of the Mount's signature L.E.O. Program pitched the innovative products and start-up businesses that they developed over the past two years from ideation to launch, to a panel of esteemed “Sharks.” Seven teams of seniors in the entrepreneurship program competed, with the products running the gamut from:

– Campus Carryall, a convenient-to-use laundry basket/backpack developed by Bridget Castano, Gabriella Chipelo, Elise McGirt; and Caitlyn Tagliareni; 

– Glow.edu, a personalizable illuminator to be sold as a cost-effective graduation gift option, which was invented by Kaitlyn Ferris, Liana Gumpel, Jalissa Cortes, and Cassidy Sontz; 

– Dry Stride, an easy-to-transport bag with a fan to dry cleats that was fashioned by Lauren Bowling, Catherine Chandler, Sophia Durantino, and Olivia Szumita; 

– Clean Screen, which prevents bad weather from impairing a car’s back-up-camera that was made by Alyssa Russo, Mia Rivera-Diaz, Sofia Raso, and Giuliana Desilva; 

– TeeZy, a clear six-ball golf ball holder that clips onto a golf back to make finding balls easier, developed by Elizabeth Forsatz, Sadani Michele, Brooke Proscia, and Kimlani Tanerlla;

– Solely, a water-resistant eco-friendly shoe cover created by Oliva Bibbo, Rebecca Hess, Lauren Hoffman, and Giorgiana Larocca; and 

– Spritz Brush, a brush with an internal cylinder for hair products like spray conditioner, which can be used on-to-go, following activities like sports, which was produced by Erin Murphy, Caitlin Caufield, Madeline Dolan, and Emily Mokris.

After all seven groups did a stupendous job presenting their products to the “Sharks,” the Campus Carryall took first place with a $5,000 scholarship award to be split among the four team members, while Soley came in second place, receiving a $2,500 scholarship award to be split among the four students.
