Earth Week Initiatives and Assembly

Environmental and Animal Club members organized an Earth Day Assembly. Their insightful and practical explorations were shared with students and a zoom presentation followed by MSDA alumna Veronica Padula ’02, STEM Program Manager for the Aleut Community of St. Paul Island in Alaska. Veronica earned her B.A. in Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology from Columbia University in 2006, her M.Sc. Fisheries from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2013, and is currently working toward her Ph.D. Fisheries. She shared about her life in Alaska, as well as the path she took to get there, and her inspirations along the way.

MSDA Environmental Club & Animal club teamed up to organize a campus cleanup. Socially distanced students, faculty, and staff took advantage of the beautiful spring day and contributed to the efforts, celebrating Earth Day this week.
