Artificial Intelligence Explored in Directed Research Senior CAPSTONE Course

"Artificial Intelligence (AI) will impact our jobs, economy, and way of life in the future. I want to strive to be a part of creating new advancements in AI for the good of the country."

- Megan Robinson '20

Megan Robinson ’20 traveled to Prudential in Newark, NJ to conduct an interview for her Directed Research Senior CAPSTONE Course with Ms. Barbara Pabon, a Vice President in PGIM Technology, working with the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) in the business field. Ms. Pabon answered Meghan's questions regarding AI's impact on the business world, society, and the economy as a whole.

Megan describes her interest in AI: “Computers and technology were always something that intimidated me and I believed it was too complex to ever learn." However, she took a leap of faith and joined the Robotics team and realized she "has a passion for coding, AI, and the creativity and problem-solving skills that come along with it." The more she researched the field, the more she became interested. "I was watching ‘60 Minutes’ when automation and the AI industry in China was highlighted. I was immediately fascinated and automatically knew I wanted to be a part of the AI movement in America. AI will impact our jobs, economy, and way of life in the future. I want to strive to be a part of creating new advancements in AI for the good of the country.”

Great job, Megan!
