Transformation Tuesday – Sarah ’18
On Transformation Tuesday, hear what Mount students have to say about what an education at the Mount means to them.
This week, Sarah ’18 shares that every day at the Mount she is encouraged by peers and teachers to share ideas that have the ability to help make a change in ourselves, our community, and in the world. Read more of her thoughts about the benefits of attending the Mount:
Welcoming atmosphere and making friends for life
Attending the Mount has benefited me in more ways than I can list. I have been able to meet some of my best friends, who will be my friends for the rest of my life. I have made so many new friends and met so many great people of different backgrounds, which is what I love about the Mount. Our community is diverse and that is what makes this place so special. The atmosphere here at the Mount is welcoming and the teachers want to see you succeed. I can honestly say that the Mount has allowed me to not only grow as a student but as an individual as well.
An amazing retreat weekend at Kairos
One of the many great Mount memories I have is being able to attend Kairos. You have the opportunity to go on Kairos for the weekend as a junior or senior. I went my senior year and can honestly say it was an amazing weekend that allowed me to connect with people I had not previously been close with.
Anyone, especially women, can make a difference in our world
“She’s the Change” goes along with our school’s motto “Empowering Young Women since 1892.” Every day we are encouraged by our peers and teachers to share our ideas that have the ability to help make a change in ourselves, our community, and in the world. For example, we have events such as Day of the Girl where we are able to meet inspiring women that show us anyone, especially women, can make a difference in our world. Being able to attend the Mount has allowed me to understand that if I want to make a change, I can.
