Prayer Shawl Crafting for Cancer Care

Healing, Prayers, and Cancer Care

As part of the MSDA Pink Ribbon Mass and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, handmade healing/prayer shawls for cancer care are presented to those in attendance who are currently undergoing treatment. In years past, the Mount has welcomed donations of shawls from local prayer shawl ministries and church knitting groups, but this year, we have opened this ministry up to our students, faculty, and staff. Our school community has been busy at work knitting and crocheting to demonstrate love and care.

English teacher Leah Jankoski ’11 is hosting an open-door crocheting/knitting studio on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Students will receive Siena Service Hours for their participation in this special ministry. Stay tuned to see beautiful crafting in progress!

Honor, Pray, and Celebrate

Join us at the Mount on Saturday, October 14 at 4:00 pm to see all the beautiful shawls at our MSDA Pink Ribbon Mass. Click here for more information.
