MSDA Robotics Collaborate with Seton Hall Prep
MSDA Robotics students were at Seton Hall Prep in December and joined the SHP Robotics Team5992 in a workshop. The Mount was invited to participate with the SHP team for the FIRST competition. According to information on the FIRST website, the Robotics Competition is the ultimate “Sport for the Mind.” The project combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology.
The SHP workshop was organized so that students could become familiar with power tools and the basic construction of a robot. The competition kicked off in early January. Over a period of six weeks, the team will work on brainstorming, designing, and constructing a robot to complete the tasks in the challenge. The first round of competition is in March. For the next few meetings, MSDA students will work at SHP to learn to code the practice robot and make it move.
