MSDA Observes National Student Walkout

National School Walkout

Mount St. Dominic Academy students, faculty, and staff observed the National Student Walkout on March 14, 2018 first with a remembrance, and then followed with a prayer service.

17 Bells Ring in Remembrance and Honor

Our community gathered outside in silence in front of the Angel Statue on the Sisters of St. Dominic Motherhouse lawn. In addition, members of the Caldwell Police Department were present. The Motherhouse bells rang 17 times at 10 am to honor the 17 victims of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Standing in Solidarity

A prayer service followed in the Doris M. Byrne Performing Arts Center. The 17 names were read and represented with a rose ceremony. The Mount prayed “we will remember” for each of the individuals and also asked for God’s light and hope as we stand in solidarity with the victims of MSD-Parkland:
