Professional Development at MSDA – “Enough As She Is”
MSDA faculty and staff took a deep-dive into the book, Enough As She Is, (click title to purchase) by Rachel J. Simmons this past summer. According to Ms. Simmon’s website, the “book gives adults the tools to help girls reject ‘supergirl’ pressure, overcome a toxic stress culture, and become resilient adults with healthy, happy, and fulfilling lives.”
The Mount’s Summer Professional Development Initiative
This year’s professional development initiative followed last summer’s read Untangled by Lisa Damour, Ph.D. Faculty and staff joined parents in the beneficial discussion at a fall book night. The united effort supports a Mount student’s journey through adolescence into young adulthood.
Enough As She Is will set the groundwork for parents and educators to help girls thrive in their adolescent transition. A spring book night is planned March 14.
