Mount Saint Dominic Academy

English and History Courses Collaborate at The MET

MSDA Honors English I and World History 9th graders took a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York to appreciate various art from different geographic regions and time periods throughout history.

Cross-discipline lessons

English teacher Mrs. Scheurer and History teacher Mr. Vigil created a joint assignment. They asked students to choose a Renaissance painting and describe how it bolstered their understanding of the time period as applied to both their English and History courses.

Finding a familiar sight

Students explored The Met and found Saint Dominic!

After the visit, the group enjoyed lunch on the stairs of the Met and a brief visit to Central Park.
