Capstone Symposium Success
The Capstone Symposium and Reception on May 1 was a great success! Mount seniors who participated in this year’s Senior Capstone Course were present along with their alumna mentors. The event celebrated their year of hard work and dedication. Students presented their final products to a panel of faculty members and shared their projects with the student body during the school day. The evening reception invited parents and the community to view the research projects.
The partnership between Mount seniors and MSDA alumnae mentors is a unique opportunity. Students have the opportunity to delve into an area of passion, performing research and hands-on work associated with their project. Mount alumnae partner with a student and give back to the Mount with their time and talents. MSDA seniors spent the year researching their topics with the goal of “hitting the ground running” when they attend college. This head-start on identifying interests will be beneficial to students. They will be well prepared to take advantage of opportunities that will present themselves in their future education.
The Senior Capstone students’ research projects and Robotics class and Journalism class podcasts were all on display at the event as well.
