Faculty Staff Service Day
MSDA faculty and staff served at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey sorting canned and dry goods at the state’s largest anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization. More than 41 million Americans are food insecure, not knowing they will have enough to feed themselves and their families. One million live here in New Jersey. Members of the Mount worked with the staff at the food bank to help ease the burden for many NJ families. Working with volunteer coordinator Omar was a blast!
While half the faculty and staff were at the food bank, the rest of the faculty remained at school and made sandwiches, festive centerpieces for Easter dinner, and goodie bags for Toni’s Kitchen in Montclair. In addition, they wrote letters to those serving in the military. What a creative bunch!
The day culminated in a prayer service where our hands were anointed with oil as a prayer for us to continue in our mission to serve. Click here to view the video.
