The postseason is right around the corner and with the state playoffs approaching, NJ Advance Media takes a look at teams that have a chance to end the season with a state championship.
Last season there were nine state titles handed out thanks to draws in the Non-Public A, Non-Public B and Group 4 finals. Ties are out the window this year, however, and there will only be six state champions when it’s all said and done.
The biggest question now is: who will finish the job and earn some hardware?
Check out the link above to see which teams are the favorites to make a deep postseason push in 2018. The Mount’s write-up can be seen below:
Mount St. Dominic
Mount St. Dominic didn’t have the Essex County Tournament run that it was expecting, but if you told this team in the preseason it’d be sitting at 8-4-2 right now, I think they would have been fine with that. This team beat Nutley last week to win their divisional title and that championship taste is something Mount St. Dominic wants to get used to. It will be a top seed in the North, Non-Public A playoffs and there’s no reason to count Mount St. Dominic out here.
