Senior Dani Dabroski had a triple with four RBI and freshman Sophia Kiseloski allowed no hits over three innings with four strikeouts to power second-seeded Mount St. Dominic, No. 4 in the NJ.com Top 20, to a 12-0 five-inning victory over sixth-seeded Pope John in the semifinals of the North Jersey, Non-Public A tournament in Caldwell.
Mount St. Dominic (27-4), which has won four straight and 15 of its last 16 games, advanced to Friday’s final and will face top-seeded and No. 3 Immaculate Heart at Montclair State University with first pitch scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Senior Johanna Rivera posted two singles with two RBI and a run scored, sophomore Kaylee D’Argenio had two hits with a double, two RBI and a run scored and sophomore Alexandra Cruz added a two-run single with two RBI and two runs scored for Immaculate Heart.
Junior Ali Winters pitched the final two innings, allowing the game’s lone hit, and struck out three in the win.
Pope John (15-12) saw its two-game win streak snapped and lost for the second time in its last six games to end its season.
