CALDWELL – The Mount Saint Dominic Academy winter track team continues to perform well, and team members continue to improve on their personal records.

The Lions competed at the Ocean Breeze Invitational at Ocean Breeze High School in Staten Island, N.Y., on Saturday, Jan. 26, and Sunday, Jan. 27.

“We had some very nice performances that included some personal bests and a school record,” said head coach Rich O’Connor.

Sophomore Alexa Raphael continued her strong season at Ocean Breeze. “Alexa broke her own school record in the 55m dash, running 7.55 to place third in the sophomore 55m dash,” O’Connor said.

Raphael also performed well at the Essex County Championships on Jan. 21.

“Alexa Raphael placed seventh in both the 55m dash and the 55m hurdles, qualifying for the finals in both events,” O’Connor said.
