COME FROM AWAY

Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 7:00 pm
Gerald Shoenfeld Theatre, 236 West 45th Street, New York, NY (Bus leaves MSDA at 5:00 pm)
Come From Away is based on the true story of when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned in to an international sleep-over when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from across the globe, were diverted to Gander’s air strip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.

MSDA Fall Production – ALMOST MAINE

November 3 & 4, 2017 at 7:30 pm
Doris M. Byrne Performing Arts Center at Mount St. Dominic Academy
Almost Maine is set in a town that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States—it’s almost in Canada. And it almost doesn’t exist. Because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it’s just…Almost. One cold, clear Friday night in the middle of winter, while the northern lights hover in the sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. Love is lost, found, and confounded. And life for the people of Almost, Maine will never be the same. ALMOST, MAINE: It’s love. But not quite.

Meanwhile, Rosie wonders if Alfred, for whom she does everything, will ever leave his mother’s shadow.
